WHAT IS ZOOM WHITENING?

This in-office whitening system takes a few hours in the office. The teeth are isolated and a whitening gel and accelerator are applied. This whitening system will allow the teeth to lighten from 5 to 8 shades lighter. Patients usually have to do a possible touch up in a year or so. But, this is determined by how much coffee or tea you drink. You can do whitening trays from the office to maintain your bright, dazzling smile.
There are a number of contributing factors that cause teeth discoloration.
  • Tetracycline staining
  • Excessive fluoride
  • Trauma to the teeth
  • Nerve degeneration
  • Genetic illness
  • Aging
  • Restorative materials
  • Drinking coffee and tea
  • Using tobacco

VENEERS

Veneers are thin porcelain shells that are permanently bonded to an anterior tooth or teeth. Veneers are suitable for patients that have large spacing in between teeth, discolored or stained teeth, broken or chipped teeth. Veneers can help in correcting uneven or crooked teeth. The following are advantages and benefits of having porcelain veneers applied to your front teeth. Only small amounts of the natural tooth are removed during the procedure. Veneers are strong, durable and color stable.

FACTS ABOUT CROWN AND BRIDGE TREATMENT

If you are faced with tooth loss, crown and bridge treatment may be the right restorative option for you. This long-term solution can help prevent the cycle of problems that can occur when just one tooth is missing, such as shifting of the remaining teeth, decay, periodontal disease and bone loss. A crown is a tooth-like covering placed over an existing tooth because the remaining may have been fractured or broken. One of the most common uses is to support a tooth when there is no longer sufficient tooth.

A bridge is a custom device anchored to the neighboring teeth that replace one or more missing teeth.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CROWNS AND BRIDGE TREATMENT?

Crowns or bridges can restore and maintain the natural bite, prevent unnatural stress on other teeth, keep opposing teeth in their proper places, prevent shifting of adjacent teeth and enhance smiles, speech, and chewing functions.

DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental implants are metal anchors made of titanium that are surgically placed in the jawbone to hold permanent replacement teeth or dentures. If you are missing one tooth, you can replace that space with a single dental implant. If you are missing multiple teeth you can have several implants placed and a bridge can be anchored to implants. When you have an edentulous arch, multiple implants can be placed and a specialized denture will anchor onto all the implants. This would give your denture the ultimate secure fit.

WHAT ARE BENEFITS OF DENTAL IMPLANTS?

Dental implants are patterned after the structure of your natural teeth; they provide a highly stable support system for the replacement teeth or denture. Other benefits include improved biting pressure, comfort and fit, longevity and reliability, and increased self-confidence.

WHAT TYPE OF CARE IS REQUIRED FOR DENTAL IMPLANTS?

The care you give to your dental implants makes a tremendous difference in the overall satisfaction. Frequent dental check-ups with your dentist to keep your gum tissue in optimal health are required.

Your implant or implants will be placed by a periodontist or oral surgeon. After around 4 to 6 months, the implant will be prepared and then Dr. Wiltman will take an impression of the abutment/anchor and crown. Now you have a new dental implant crown.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I AM A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR DENTAL IMPLANTS?

You need to have good health, healthy gums, sufficient underlying jawbone to support the implants, and a good attitude to ensure that you follow through with vital oral hygiene.
